Bridal trends making a comeback.

It is funny to see the effects a global pandemic can have when planning a wedding. Whilst we have been closed, we have still been having wonderful conversations with brides discussing their options for their dream dress, and we have been really interested by the results. Colour has featured massively as some of you are asking for blush pink or gold dresses. Perhaps not quite as elaborate as Emma’s choice above (I just really love the picture!) It seems that you are becoming more adventurous and are not sticking to just the traditional Ivory.

We are seeing a rise in requests for short dresses as more and more of you are having a more intimate celebration, followed by a more elaborate celebration with a dress to match, later in the year. What ever your thought may be about Yoko and her effect on the Beatles, you cannot deny that she made a very stylish bride indeed. If my knees didn’t resemble little old men living on my legs, I would wear more dresses like this.

It also seems that more of you are keen to wear veils, and not just the elbow, or finger tip length ….. You are wanting full drama! In length, detail and volume. I’m not sure we will see the triple tier veil make a comeback anytime soon, but we are definitely seeing a nod to tradition with a rise in double tier veils. Channel your inner Priscilla.

Finally, my favourite … Sleeves! Lace sleeves, fabric sleeves, short or long. I absolutely love a dress with sleeves and I am so happy to see them on your wish lists too. Whether it is a very delayed reaction to Megan’s dress or if it’s because we are now looking at a different time of year for your nuptials, sleeves are most definitely IN. Also it gives me an excuse to look adoringly at this image of Princess Anne’s wedding dress. (I have so much sleeve envy).
