Victoria & Jamie

Warbrook House

We asked our beautiful Boo Bride Victoria if she wouldn’t mind sharing with us her wedding day. As you can imagine, she was more than happy to oblige! Here she tells you all about her magical day and hopefully it will leave you excited and inspired for your wedding. Put the kettle on and settle in for Victoria & Jamie’s story.

Jamie is my husband’s name, we met in Tru nightclub, very, very drunk!!  But I knew as soon as I met him that I wanted to marry him.  The proposal was romantic bit I had a feeling it was happening, so I kept trying to prevent him doing it during the day.  We went to bournemouth for the night which is our place, it was the evening, we walked across the beach, found a little bench and Jamie started being all soppy ….. This is so unlike him that I thought he was dying.  And then he asked me to marry him!  I just kept saying “is this a joke?”  “Where are the hidden cameras” as I had been given several rings before, but never The One!  That was Nov 2017.

We chose Warbrook House Hotel after we cancelled our original venue and changed the date.  We fell madly in love with Warbrook, it was elegant, had the wow factor, yet felt really relaxed and homely.  We didn’t really have a theme, we just had everything that we loved and wanted, our colour scheme was lilac so we incorporated that throughout.

We found most of our suppliers through wedding fairs at Warbrook, or recommendations from friends who are already married.  I came to Boo because jaime knows Aimee, Emma’s daughter, and he had always wanted me to feel special and taken care of, and he assured me that Emma would, which she and her whole team did.

The two other suppliers which really stood out for us were our photographer Hannah (Hannah Lucy Photography) and Gavin from Freestyle Entertainment, they became great friends, nothing was ever too much trouble.  They just wanted us to have the perfect day and were there from the beginning to the moment it all finished.

My favourite part of the planning process was seeing how excited my friends and family were, and seeing everyone come together, wanting to be involved.  And the food tasting …. obviously!

Oh my goodness, the day itself is such a blur!!!  But for me, the most memorable moment of the day was the first dance with my dad (Sorry jamie)!  My dad is my world and at points when her has been ill, I was never sure I would get that moment … and I did!  And I will be forever grateful for that.

What I enjoyed most about my Boo adventure were the laughs!  The fact that through all the personal difficulties Jamie & I went through, Emma was always there with us.  Also, the fact that once you’re a Boo Bride, you are always welcome back for visits.

The most valuable person on my wedding day was a Bridesmaid.  Absolutely every was valuable and important to us, but from a personal point of view, I couldn’t have been without Emily!  She spent her whole day running around bless her, I don’t think she stopped to breathe.  She is the third person in our relationship and loves us both very much.  She just wanted everything to be perfect and for us to be happy.  She really went above and beyond.

My 3 top tips for a perfect day are.

  • Always do what YOU & your fiancé want, stop worrying about pleasing other people.

  • Make as much as you can for the wedding.  It is SO much fun.  The night before I had three of my bridesmaids in my hotel room filling sweet jars and expanding water beads, they went everywhere!  I was paranoid that we wouldn’t have enough so throughout the night I kept sneakily waking up to fill the sink with more.  When we woke up in the morning, the sink was overflowing!

  • Don’t sweat about the small things, everything will always turn out ok!
