An interview with a Boo Bride.
Something they don’t tell you, when planning your wedding, is that the “Wedding Blues” are a real thing. So we asked our gorgeous bride Jade if she wouldn’t mind re-living her special day and sharing all of the finer details with us. I’m happy to say that she was delighted to oblige.
“Tell us a little about your other half.”
I met my husband Danny when I was 16, he was 18. We met after we finished school, it was actually online and I did not know I had him as a friend! We had been to the same school and he was the year above me, but i had never spoken to him. We went on our first date to the cinema with another couple and it all started from there. Danny proposed on my 21st birthday whilst walking on the beach in bournemouth. This used to be our little place, and it was so lovely, although a little cold for beach walk mid January!
“Which venue did you choose? “
We wanted somewhere beautiful but intimate. Foxhills had everything we wanted. It is such a gorgeous venue and all of the staff are so nice. The grounds are impeccable. We booked our wedding with only 7 months to go, after being engaged 8 years! No specific reason but we thought it was now or never, and we are last minute people. The feel for the day was relaxed and calm. I only had 1 maid of hoour and 1 bridesmaid so it wasnt chaotic which was just what I wanted.
“Which of your suppliers would you like to give a special mention to?”
Our suppliers were on the recommended list from our venue. We still did 'shop' around but they really were the best so we proceeded with them.
Our photographer was Paul Talbot who was Incredible! Our pictures are beautiful and he has been so kind and friendly throughout.
Our DJ was Lee at LR Disco Entertainment who interacted with our guests and bought the upbeat atmosphere you need to have the best party. He made us laugh and even took pictures and videos throughout the night.
Our flowers were by Kate at Lil & Myrtle and they were gorgeous, I have had my bouquet dried and framed.
My makeup artist was Sophia at 'makeupbysophia_uk. She was amazing and captured exactly what I wanted without me even knowing it before. I loved her style of makeup and she was so easy to get on with. She went above and beyond and I couldnt thank her more.
My hair was by Hannah who happened to be my bridesmaid friend, she was again fabulous! She was also friends with my make-up artist which helped the dynamics of the day.
Of course, my wedding dress was from your amazing shop. You were so incredibly helpful and kind in helping me choose. You came across warm and welcoming and with 2 or 3 weeks to decide... we didn't have long. We got there though and I have put my dress on more than once since the wedding. All of our suppliers went above and beyond and were vital to our perfect day.
“What top tips would you share with other brides to ensure a perfect wedding day? “
1. Do not let it become stressful! It is only 1 day and should be filled with joy and happy memories. Of course there will be a little stress, there always is with anything worth having in life, but this should primarily be a fun and joyful time.
2. Book the big things and everything will else follow.
3. Do what you want to do. Don't worry about traditions or upsetting people, this is your day so it has to be right for you. 4. Another cheeky addition.... prioritise the two of you. Stay together the whole day and don't lose each other to greeting guests etc. This day is about you two and hands down the best thing we did.
“What was your favourite part of the planning process? “
Hmmm.... this is a tricky one. I am not sure I can decide, I loved it all in hindsight and wish I could do it again.
“What was your most memorable moment of the day? “
We had a small amount of stress first thing in the morning as Danny dived into the hotel swimming pool and split his head open! A quick A&E trip to glue it and he was back in time for the wedding! We definitely had the best time partying... we did not leave that dance floor. We prioritised spending the whole day together and it was the best thing we could have done. We danced and laughed together all evening. The ceremony went so quickly, but was beautiful. There was so much love, warmth and laughter from everyone all day. If I could bottle it up and keep it forever, I would!
“What did you enjoy the most about your Boo Adventure?”
It was a whirlwind for sure! I was completely unaware of how early you needed to find your dress. With 2-3 weeks to spare we cracked on and got there. The conflict I had with what dress to choose was difficult, but you made it sound so simple. Something along the lines of 'having your dream dress from when you were a child and the dress that the woman today wants'. This was so accurate it nearly brought me to tears! With that, we managed to find the perfect dress. You gave me so much warmth and love and I quite frankly wanted to stay standing in my wedding dress at Boo all day!
“What other special moments added to your special day?”
My Hen do was in Bath with my closest friends. I have never felt so hungover in my life... but it was worth it and I had the best time. Danny went to butlins with the boys for the weeknd and he felt equally as bad when he got back. We both felt so loved throughout the whole process, it really gave us perspective and appreciation for the loved ones in our lives.
My bridesmaid and her partner had arrived back from the canary islands at 2am the day of the wedding and our other friend had booked an early flight back from a stag he was on to make our wedding. My family had also travelled down from Lancaster for the weekend.
“Who was your most Most Valuable Person on the day? “
All our family and friends were amazing. I would say both sides were fantastic in the morning after Danny's accident. His Best Man whipped him off to A&E and I was kept calm by everyone else. I was quite calm though and probably more so than other people! My Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid were fantastic though, making sure I had everything througout the day. My maid of honour even went to get my trainers from my hotel room in the evening for me to change into. Of course the most valuable person on the day was Danny though. Danny and I spent the day together laughing and falling in love all over again. I did not think I could feel so in love and loved until that day. I went down to breakfast the next day in my wedding dress and Danny in his suit. I wanted to instantly do the whole thing again, I even asked Danny if we could renew our vows in a few years. I think to Danny's surprise this was a little too soon!
We went straight on our amazing honeymoon the following day and the day after we arrived at the resort we were sitting at breakfast, trying to take in the last 72 hours, when the song I walked down the aisle to came on. We both looked at each other and nearly cried! We did not hear it again after that, how strange!
We definitely had wedding blues and I think I still have them if that is a thing!? I have procrastinated writing this as it means I still had some wedding 'to do's'. It really is the best feeling and if I could do it all again tomorrow I would!
Thank you so much for sharing your special day with us. You will be a part of The Boo Family forever xx
