Sara & Kyle

We wanted to take a trip down memory lane with Sara & Kyle to remember their gorgeous September 2018 wedding. Kyle popped the question the previous March, whilst on a romantic trip to Prague, which gave the couple 18 months to plan their perfect day.

Sara chose a strapless corded lace fishtail dress from Mark Lesley, to wear on her big day. She was accompanied by 4 bridesmaids and one maid of honour and Kyle had one best man and 3 groomsman.

The couple made the decision to marry at the gorgeous Wasing Park in Aldermaston, they had visited 4 venues but Sara already knew before they got to see Wasing that is was the place for her. The theme for the day was simple chic, with a blush pink, gold and rose gold colour pallet

“It is just the most beautiful place and we were so lucky to have a little white church on site so you can have the traditional church wedding but then only have to walk a few meters to the big castle barn and all the site accommodation. All the staff there are so friendly and helpful, we had Helena as our events coordinator and she made the whole planning process a million times easier!”

“For the ceremony we had a lovely organist called Carole, who is also an amazing singer so we asked her to sing for us as too. I walked down the isle to Christina Perri - thousands years and on the way out Carole sang an acoustic version of the Friends theme song 'I'll be there for you’, it was really magical”

“I was so lucky with hair and make up because my sister is a beautician and makeup artist so she did my face for me and then one of my best friends is a hairdresser (and the only person I trust to cut or colour my hair) so she did my hair for me.”

We asked Sara for her 3 tips for helping bride’s plan their special day, and here is what she said:
  1. If you have time: take 10/15 minutes out of the day and just go off for a walk or drink with your new husband. The whole day can get very over whelming and it seems like you're spending more time speaking to everyone else than your actual partner.
  2. If budget allows: then definitely get a wedding videographer. It took me months to convince Kyle that we should have one but I'm so glad we did. The day goes so quickly and I love that we now have this video we can watch whenever we want to relive our day.
  3. Don't forget: 'it is your day'. No one else'. People may come up with suggestions on what they think you should do, who to invite etc but it is your day so just do it all your way and how you want it to be.
With 18 months to plan her wedding, I wondered what Sara’s favourite moment had been …. “That's a hard one because I actually really enjoyed it all, except the last 2 weeks when I was getting stressed over how little time left. (I don't think moving house a week before the wedding helped either haha) If I'm honest I did not like dress shopping to begin with, I found it very overwhelming with too many options and I hadn't had that WOW feeling everyone talks about.  I had been to quite a few shops before I came to Boo but once I had my 1st appointment and met Emma and my dream dress I loved it. I couldn't wait to keep coming back to try it on and have all my fittings. And our catch up and chats at every appointment were lovely. My mum loved it too, and we both know how much she loves to chat :) ”

I am always interested to hear what the most memorable part of the day has been, and every answer is so different. Sara certainly didn’t disappoint, her favourite part of the day was the evening, having all of her family and friends dancing and drinking. The dance floor was never empty and everyone was just having a good time. “I also really loved the food, we had Galloping Gourmet as caterers and they did a fab job. We had stone fire baked pizza for the evening party food, was delicious!”

We hope that you will join with us to wish Sara & Kyle a fabulous 2nd wedding anniversary, and may there be many many more ahead.
